About Kyle's Recovery Center

Kyle Turney - The Inspiration for Kyle's Recovery Center

The story behind Kyle's Recovery Center is a personal one. Kyle Turney, stepson to Eric Pori and brother to Steven Jones, tragically succumbed to a drug overdose in 2020. Eric Pori was the one to discover him lifeless in his room and was left with the indescribable pain and helplessness that comes from such a tragedy. This life-altering event fueled Eric's commitment to confront the drug epidemic at its core. Drawing from his own 22 years of experience in the field of drug and alcohol recovery, Eric Pori was compelled to take initiative starting at ground zero.

Founded by Eric Pori, Steven Jones, and Amanda Digiacomo in 2023, Kyle's Recovery Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring hope and providing a supportive environment for those struggling with addiction in the Bakersfield community. Our program is built on the belief that everyone deserves a chance at recovery, and we are committed to offering the resources and guidance needed to make that a reality. Each success story reaffirms our belief that every person struggling with drug and alcohol addiction deserves a second chance.

Kyle's Recovery Center is funded by donations and complies with the strictest NGO financial management requirements.

Our Mission

At Kyle's Recovery Center, our mission is straightforward yet impactful: to be a source of hope for those facing addiction in the Bakersfield and Kern County community. In 2022, Kern County witnessed an 8% rise in local deaths linked to illicit opioid use. That same year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 110,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, with the majority attributed to fentanyl. Most of the victims were under 40 (Price.). Kyle's Recovery Center is committed to reducing these numbers, one person at a time.

Built on the belief that every individual has the potential for recovery, we provide a nurturing and empathetic environment where individuals can heal and reconstruct their lives. Our team is devoted to guiding and empowering our clients on their path to sobriety, offering the necessary tools and resources for their success.
